As your website is the most comprehensive - I was wondering if it was ok to archive some threads from AT forums like Spirituality which are about to get lost?

I don't see why not? If it gets too extensive I can always sub-board them Just make sure they're in the right place and give credit where it's due

Great thanks- I'll try to save some of the photos from AT - I can't find how to upload photos from my 'puter though? Have I missed something? At the moment it's only possible to upload from the internet. The attachment option has disappeared.

At the moment it's only possible to upload from the internet. The attachment option has disappeared. Yes... sadness town is that attachments have limited space unless I choose to pay to upgrade the forum, and right now it's cost prohibitive and I'd rather pay for no ads... In the meantime: imgur.com has great free image hosting and I've been using it for over a decade without incident... you can then post the images via links like you did in that other post. I made an executive call to save the attachments space for admin purposes for now... Once we get rolling and big enough I may start a patreon or something to support added features like uploading, but I want the forum to remain free for all to use without having to resort to a ramen diet

As an aside, your previous posts remain in tact, pictures and all... Me realizing the attachment space is limited for now was mea culpa. Please don't hate me.

I don't hate you- no worries I'll use Imgur, it'll be just like using AT without a subscription... deja vu Maybe put it to a vote...would people rather have adverts or ability to upload attachments? Or maybe people would pay to be able to upload attachments? How much would it cost you per month?

When you say "archive", do you mean copy wholesale? Could you point me to a thread you've done this to/in?
I'd like to start recreating some of the Thoth resources from AT so we have them at our disposal. What's the policy wrt copying a post that contains, say, a whole bunch of links to non-AT sites, and what is the policy for copying deck study indices direct from AT?

@ Thorhammer- as AT Thoth forums will thankfully still be readable, in the first place the priority I think is to save the photo attachments from AT before we can't log in any more to view them....then we could take our time linking to the text or copy and pasting?

Or maybe people would pay to be able to upload attachments? How much would it cost you per month? Yes and no? At at you could only post links with a couple exceptions.... here you can use the link to generate a photo in any forum without having to pay. For transparency of my out-of-pocket... storage costs anywhere from $3-$73 per month depending on the amount of space starting at 200mb per month... The forum gets 200mb to start and over and above you have to pay monthly for. Once we really get rocking and rolling I fully expect to outgrow 200mb per. Additionally it creates a financial trap where your photos are held hostage again and gone should something happen, which is just AT all over again. I'm trying to avoid their mistakes. I've been using the imgur method for my posts. I've got the 200mb reserve for potential admin modding issues i.e. screenshots of technical or member issues so it's archived here if need be.

Great. Thanks for explaining. Yes it does make sense to avoid having stuff held to ransom. Sorry about using up so much of your 200MB with all those sphere photos!

You used like none at all. I just didn't realize attachements are limited and when I was bopping around forum settings for something else I saw it and panicked. Like I said, as we get rolling, I can see someone uploading a giant video file and having all bedlam break loose. I figured better to start this way than to be going for months and then be all "Attachments?! J/K LOL"

The attachments on AT now show up in threads. so there really is no urgency about this. That must have taken Kate AGES - kudos to her.
BTW imgur asks people NOT to hotlink - so you might find yourself losing the lot anyway. use dropbox if you are that desperate.
