I would love to see boards dedicated to the study of RWS and especially the Thoth. Other than that, I'm a book junkie, so I would love to see a Books & Media section, too!
EDIT: I'm blind, and see that you do have a Thoth-specific forum. Ignore that part. ;]

A media section will be coming soon where you can discuss books, podcasts, websites, etc. Still outlining it though  And I'm still sussing out how to approach the RWS studies as the majority of decks and discussion are rws based. For now the card studies board might be a good spot? I can always move them into appropriate forums later if need be |

Not sure if it would be a board or a sub-board. But a place where people can make a list of their collection? I know AT had a space in the profile, but I don't see much space for that here.
It might be a good place near the marketplace once you get that going so people can have a quick reference to go by.

I am seeing many new Forum sites popping up, and if it divides the present aecletic users they will all be less successful. We need to choose ONE forum, or at least a majority of users need to choose one forum, for it to thrive. I love your new ideas and boards! I think if your list of boards start with the same boards as aecletic, this forum might be more successful. Most people resist change, and I think it would be helpful for everyone, at least for 6 months to 1 year. Then review if boards should be deleted, combined etc. Just a thought, I want to see this forum successful and attract all aecletic users PS Amazing job on this forum!! |

If there is a specific thing or current event you wish to discuss, a thread on open chat for each thing should be fine... I will however say proceed with extreme caution: These days politics are VERY polarizing, and instead of talking about ideas, facts, and politely agreeing to disagree, it always (very quickly) devolves into mud-slinging from all sides. Think about how starting threads like that could potentially snowball quickly and damage your relationships with people you interact with on the forum otherwise peacefully. Even if they do not reply to your thread or post they could read it, and feelings could be hurt and relationships strained. Do you really want to invite something that divisive into your life and on to this forum? Especially in a community that's so small and so diverse? Do we really need to find reasons to divide ourselves further? Personally, I don't think so, and you'll very likely never find me engaging in political chat. It also goes without saying I will immediately lock down threads and ban people that engage in willful mudslinging, baiting, and trolling. Not here, not on my watch. |

I hope this forum thrives as well. I know change is hard, but I think the boards here are similar enough where people can find their way around, and different enough so that we're not just another AT clone. Do I want to carry the AT torch? Yes. 100% You bet. Bring that challenge on. But I don't want to just copy AT either. I think with this shake-up we have a chance to grow, achieve, and be better as a community. In this way, I think change is exciting, and necessary. Anywho, how are you finding the forum so far? Do YOU like it? |
