Hello all,
I know this statement is belated, but the mods and I felt it was too important, so I hired a consultant to help us put to words how we feel, which meant it took us a bit longer to make an official post. I hope you can understand and forgive us for the time it took.
As the popularity of tarot grows and the tarot community grows with it, enthusiasts have found a multitude of platforms on various social media. We have used our reach and voices to review decks, bring tarot projects to life and to market, debate the finer points of various card systems and symbolism, and connect over our passion for tarot.
Now it is time to use our voices, platforms, and connections to support George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the host of others who have lost their lives to the pandemic of racism in America. It is time to be better allies, come together, and support the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community.
We have been making steps to find actions that our forum can take to make a meaningful difference, but we do not want to get stuck in in an endless cycle of “analysis paralysis.” Rather, we will focus on what we can do today and build from there. We intend to be allies in our online world, as we have tried to be in our personal lives.
As always, racism and hate have no place on our forum.
Moving forward Tarotsphere will seek out ways promote and support respectful discussions about current issues and their effect the tarot community. We will support and uplift Black voices and voices of Color. We remain open to hear about how we can be better allies. The tarot community is an extraordinary example of acceptance and support. It is our hope that we continue to contribute in a meaningful way.
