I'm not saying no, but before I add anything else there, earthair I want to pick your brain as to how many thoth sub-boards there could potentially be, whether or not they're something that can be covered initially by threads in the thoth board and added later, and if they are immediately needed how they should be organized keeping potential for growth in mind. Basically, am I on the right track, or will that section need a massive overhaul later? Admittedly I'm not familiar with Thoth, so I want to defer to someone who is better versed, but I also worry about the visual / scrolling size of the forum and ease of navigation and visibility of the sub-boards. Can you PM me? |

Can you PM me? Holly - firstly, thank you for your ongoing efforts, and I admire your perspicacity. The issue with Thoth study is that it's a) convoluted and b) inextricably interconnected. Analysing the influences in any one card can easily take a thread so far into the weeds no one ever gets back, and while that's fun at the time, it's not useful for posterity. At some point it'll get to the point where it'll have to be separated, and can you imagine detangling numerology, gematria, Kabbalah, Egyptology, ancient history, modern history and psychology from a thread? I suspect that reverse engineering the sub-forums at AT was incredibly difficult and demanding for the moderator/s involved. While I'm a fan of the less is more approach generally, it might actually be wiser to start with more for this particular subject matter to prevent doing that all over again. An alternative title to earthair's suggestion could be "Occult science" but I guess that might be a bit offputting. |
