My name is Eva Duplan and I'm an illustrator working on creating a tarot deck of my own.
It’s called The Butterfly Effect Tarot - it is a deck about femininity in a variety of forms. It's about being comfortable in your skin, about being able to be whoever you want to be. This deck is an expression of what's most important to me - to showcase women as they are, no matter the shape, size, or color. It is my hope that through the mysticism of the Tarot, this deck will cause a literal butterfly effect - one that will resonate positivity, love, and hope to women everywhere.
My kickstarter will be starting very soon and I'm starting to spread the word about it. I'm hoping to launch December 1st and would appreciate any and all feedback, words of encouragement, and word of mouth about it as possible.
The Butterfly Effect Tarot Deck is a full 78 card deck about femininity in a variety of forms.
The Butterfly Effect Deck explores Tarot through the lens of Body Positivity. Using both modern and traditional elements, I illustrated each of the Major Arcana and the Court cards with the intent of showcasing diversity, positivity, and femininity. Even the negative and masculine cards are drawn with this in mind to the best of my abilities.
By simplifying the deck into the core meanings, I hope that this will be a great addition to anyone’s collection, and I hope that people find meaning through these cards in their readings.
The Kickstarter is UP and RUNNING! Please take some time to pledge - there are plenty of amazing rewards to be had! We have little zines of the Major Arcana, prints of your favorite card, as well as the deck itself. There are tons of fun stretch goals as well!
This is what’s known as a Pip Deck, which means that the Ace-10 are drawn up as singular numbers like a playing card deck - but if we make it to the final stretch goal of $7000 by the end of the Kickstarter (ending on January 30th) then I will take the time to illustrate the rest of the deck in the same manner as the Court cards and the Major Arcana.
The deck hopefully will ship out sometime in March - updates will happen regularly on the status of the deck.
Please check out my Tarot Kickstarter, coming soon on December 1st!

HOLMES: what did you use,, the living the tarot book , was it a course or a self goal ?

wildrosespeonies: Self goal. I don't have time to sign up for actual card studies class even though I know many places offer them online. I use the guidebooks that come with the deck(s) for reference when I can't recall a card.

wildrosespeonies: Also, I think guidebooks are underrated. They can put more detail into the illustrations and some of them are pure poetry. (Mesquite and Pagan Otherworlds being my favorite guidebooks for that reason -- language is amazingly used)

HOLMES: a book written for the deck can be excellent if it adds , the tarot of the elves talked about the story behind the minors, one was really sad.. the hudes guidebook , and robin wood was awesome .

wildrosespeonies: Wow. I just discovered a tarot maker on kickstarter who blantantly stole another tarot maker's art. (The art is the art back of Sinking Wasteland.) I have let SW creator know. But wow! Can't believe that.

wildrosespeonies: The artist contacted the KS tarot card maker and they replaced the image, but I'm pretty sure the new image is stolen too. It looks familiar, but I don't recognize where the image come from.

auroralara: forum.tarotsphere.net The “force” behind tarot reading is always down to the reader. The “reader” being the mechanism by which tarot is interpreted is inevitably a human being or more. Humans being the creators of symbols and symbolism such as that
