Doctor Who: Image of the Fendahl (Tom Baker, Season 15, Serial 3, 1977) features character Mrs Tyler, as played by Daphne Heard, reading the Swiss 1JJ deck in a classic Celtic Cross. The cards feature, fleetingly, in two scenes.

The French New Wave film Cleo from 5 to 7 includes a tarot card reading and layout at the very beginning of the film. Agnes Varda is an underrated director, and she's very lovely and introspect in how she handles the heroine's journey. (I included the link to Roger Ebert's review, but the film is available to stream on filmstruck if you have never seen it. You can get a free two week trial if you care to watch it.)
I too love Doctor Who, Star Trek, Whedonverse, Farscape, and even Babylon 5. Basically just give me a space opera or a sci-fi/fantasy anthology show and I'm there. And don't get me started on films. So many good underrated sci-fi and fantasy films!
I always thought as I watched that scene on Netflix over and over ( and on my dvd before that ) that she had a special tarot that kind of changed to what she needed, as I tried to figure what card she had drawn. (on a side note I felled in love with druscilla way of talking and being so now and then I go through all her scenes to get used to her mannerisms,, like if angel is such a guardian at the beginning why did warn dru in the beginning instead of dispatching her when she is weak despite his memory of angelus making her ) .
it is too bad that the buffy tarot falled through,, or perhaps not,, for I didn't agree with some of racheal pollacks imagery for the tower for example.
bones cindi Lauper.
I loved it, in particular I found her way of reading the tarot as portrayed to be more inuitative , no positions yet she knew to tell booth to go save bones and booth took her up on it , seeing how serious she was, when you would assume a fbi agent would say "you can't trick me "
but I just can't forget the Manitou,, the hero in it is a tarot reader played by tony Curtis..
he reads the tarot for an older lady and says "let the pips guard you and you will do well or something to the effect , she asked what did you say "guard well the pips and it will be good " in the movie they would come for their reading of the week, and he would put on a kind of con game..
however after in the movie he shuffles the cards and get the same answer again in regards to question about helping a woman..
and later on reads hilouriously for another older lady who comes for a reading, she starts crying about her week til he says shush , and she shuts up insantly and then he shuffles the cards and get the death and devil, and does it again and get the same. and the woman starts pow wow dancing (I am ojbiwe but I didnt' find it offensive I found it funny ) and goes and tosses herself down the stars. to me it was how I picture a tarot reader might live in the 70s eheh.
Hi, I recently released a film on the major arcana, The 21 Faces of God, it is a 27 part film, released in serial and long form versions. It explores the history, duality, archetypes and structure of the cards, and then goes into each card separately. This was a two year labor of love, I hope you enjoy. If you do like the film I would be very grateful if you shared it on social media.
In Buffy, Drusilla uses tarot in her first appearance, in the episode "What's My Line?"
I think the producers created her deck for the show, which is a shame because I love that cyclops devil. Can anyone make out the other cards?
The last one looks like a card from the major arcana, since it has "IIV" on the top. Unfortunately, this is not a roman number. Because of the lion I would guess that it is strength. Oh, and of course it is the RWS-strength and not the Thoth-lust, since the devil looks so traditionally evil.
As for the middle card, as it does not have a roman number on top it is minor. Maybe an ace of disks/pentacles.

The BBC series, Poldark will be releasing an official tarot deck. I'm not sure if it is just the major arcana or all of the cards, but I am excited. (Granted I haven't actually gotten around to watching the series comletely yet, but what I have seen, I have liked.)

wildrosespeonies: Wow. I just discovered a tarot maker on kickstarter who blantantly stole another tarot maker's art. (The art is the art back of Sinking Wasteland.) I have let SW creator know. But wow! Can't believe that.

wildrosespeonies: The artist contacted the KS tarot card maker and they replaced the image, but I'm pretty sure the new image is stolen too. It looks familiar, but I don't recognize where the image come from.

auroralara: forum.tarotsphere.net The “force” behind tarot reading is always down to the reader. The “reader” being the mechanism by which tarot is interpreted is inevitably a human being or more. Humans being the creators of symbols and symbolism such as that

TeaAndTarot: Where would be the best place to start a deck study thread? The Wooden Tarot is on its way and I’d like to post my thoughts here for posterity.

wildrosespeonies: TeaAndTarot. Probably the Tarot Deck Discussion would be the best place, as you are just studying one specific deck. But make sure to check the whole thread as there might already be a Wooden Tarot thread already.
