When I first started to read, I started from myself and initially I felt whatever I am reading is coming out of my conscious. But, then I surrendered and read it for myself thinking that am reading it for anyone else.
I find it's easier to read for other people because you are not emotionally involved. I have learned to read for myself only when I am calm enough to read and can detach enough to interpret cards instead of looking for what I want to read. I never get anywhere reading for myself in a state of stress. Reading for others relaxes me and calms me. I must relax and calm through some other means before reading for myself.
I struggle to read for myself as I feel like I'm too emotionally connected and I doubt what I'm seeing - ie. is it wishful thinking, am I reading what I want to see. When I read for others I have no doubt about the messages I am getting.
No doubt it's harder, Wolfswan. Record the reading and read through it again when you are calmer. I find this has often helped me. Also try to make certain you are reading for questions that sound more like, "What do I need to know about situation X" than "Will result X happen?" Finally, if answers are difficult to read, I personally find it is often because the spread is not well constructed for the question, i.e. say a Celtic Cross spread for a love reading. You may need to find a spread that is more attuned to your question.
Its not a matter of trust for me but getting the right words out of my mind. But when I started paid readings even as an sms reader I was told to just trust thr cards and from there read them as they are. I learned that when I read for others I do not have to be right or wrong but to just read the cards and if it resonates with them then its good, but if not then dont beat yourself up what the querent/sitter probably wanted to hear something else.

wildrosespeonies: Also, I think guidebooks are underrated. They can put more detail into the illustrations and some of them are pure poetry. (Mesquite and Pagan Otherworlds being my favorite guidebooks for that reason -- language is amazingly used)

wildrosespeonies: Wow. I just discovered a tarot maker on kickstarter who blantantly stole another tarot maker's art. (The art is the art back of Sinking Wasteland.) I have let SW creator know. But wow! Can't believe that.

wildrosespeonies: The artist contacted the KS tarot card maker and they replaced the image, but I'm pretty sure the new image is stolen too. It looks familiar, but I don't recognize where the image come from.

auroralara: forum.tarotsphere.net The “force” behind tarot reading is always down to the reader. The “reader” being the mechanism by which tarot is interpreted is inevitably a human being or more. Humans being the creators of symbols and symbolism such as that
