I am completely new to Tarot and still finding my way around. I am trying to learn the best approach to phrasing questions and using correct spreads and in the process I have completely confused myself with the way I have been asking questions. I was asking questions in a very fated way and now understand the influence of free will and that questions are better used as guidance and if phrased in a positive and constructive way. I don't want to disrespect the cards or the process by re-asking but I feel I could get much more out of the reading if I redo this now that I have a better understanding of how to ask questions.
What are the general thoughts on rephrasing an re-asking questions to get a better and more accurate reading? Does this show lack of faith in the original reading?

It's more than okay to ask the cards for clarification. You aren't invalidating the previous readings, you are just asking for more precise answers. Nothing wrong with that. And as long as you are telling the cards you are still learning how to read for yourself, and still learning your style of reading, they will more than assist you.
There are no hard rules for doing tarot. You do have to have an open-mind and listen to the cards. You do have to be ready for answers you might not like. However, if you need to shuffle and draw several times in order to get clarification -- that's fine. (I am quite unorthodox in that I don't ask my cards questions. I just shuffle and draw -- usually a 3 card draw. If I'm stuck, then I'll be draw for clarification, but all my decks have accepted that I am THAT person who is not going to start with a question. But many, many people do start with specific questions and that is also fine too!)
In my study its best to ask an open ended question and from another reader I learned to ask a question with a certain outcome. For open ended question it helps you to ask more question that narrows your reading to a specific issue. With the second one this method was used for readinh with cartomancy and lenormand, but its best to do a bit of reading from other card readers like biddy, tarot lady, and maybe camilla elias just try using google to search for topics on what or what not to ask the tarot. I hope this helps.
One of the biggest myths about tarot is that you can’t buy your own cards. That’s what someone told me when I first started reading, and I spent too long trying to read a deck I felt no connection to—all because of some archaic rule that suggests that if you spend your own money, you’re not going to be able to read right. That’s not true.
2. Create A Personal Connection With The Tarot 3).Swap The Celtic Cross For A 1-3 Card Spread 4)Find a way to make the cards uniquely yours.
Learn the cards’ meanings, but leave room for your own interpretations. Once you start reading up on tarot, you’re going to find that every author has their own idea of what each card means. Each card will have a few keywords that most experts agree on, but outside of that, you’re going to find a lot of contradicting information. Plus, each card will mean something different depending on where and how (upright or reverse) it shows up in your spread.
5).Read for yourself before reading for anyone else. You may have heard that you’re not supposed to read tarot for yourself, but that’s just another myth. How are you supposed to give others insights into their lives when you can’t do the same for yourself? A great way to get accustomed to the practice is to start reading for yourself regularly. It’s totally OK to consult your books and journals as much as you need to.

wildrosespeonies: Wow. I just discovered a tarot maker on kickstarter who blantantly stole another tarot maker's art. (The art is the art back of Sinking Wasteland.) I have let SW creator know. But wow! Can't believe that.

wildrosespeonies: TeaAndTarot. Probably the Tarot Deck Discussion would be the best place, as you are just studying one specific deck. But make sure to check the whole thread as there might already be a Wooden Tarot thread already.
